On April 8th 2010, Brush units from Hutchinson were asked to assist a nieghboring fire district for help on a large grass fire. Among the 650 acres of CRP that got burnt, Brush 61 got a little crispy. After being stuck in the mud, the fire came closer and closer. Personnel on the unit tried to fight off the flames but quickly ran out of water. The two personnel than fleed to safety into the burnt area. We lost a truck but we are so glad to have our guys safe.
